I started the night before making my traditional French Toast Casserole.
Overnight French Toast
Step one: Cut up into one-inch cubes about 10 cups of bread (we use french bread), and spread them out in a 13x9-inch pan to wich you've applied a generous coat of pan spray.
Step two: Beat an 8oz block of softened cream cheese with a mixer.
Step three: While beating the cream cheese, slowly add the following, all of which have been warmed to room temp.
8 eggs
1 t. vanilla extract
3/4 c half and half
1/2 c maple syrup
1 1/2 c milk
Step four: Pour the mixture over the bread, cover, and place in the fridge overnight.
Step five: Remove the pan and let it warm up on the counter while your oven is heating to about 375 degrees. Then bake the French Toast dish for about 50 minutes or until slightly browned on top.
Step six: After you have removed the French Toast from the over, sprinkle it with powdered sugar and drizzle with more maple syrup. This dish should serve 10 - 12 people.
Here are the kids enjoying their breakfast.
